Rapper Yella Beezy arrested on weapons charge during traffic stop in east Oak Cliff, Dallas police say

Rapper Yella Beezy was arrested Saturday evening on a weapons charge, Dallas police say.

Officers patrolling the area conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Sunnyvale Street shortly before 6 p.m. in east Oak Cliff, police said.

During the traffic stop, multiple weapons were found in the 29-year-old rapper’s vehicle, whose real name is Markies Deandre Conway, police said.

Conway was arrested on a charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon, police said.

He was taken to Dallas County jail without incident, police said. According to jail records, Conway also had holds for two other traffic violations: vehicle entering the highway from a private road or driveway and ran stop signs and yield signs.

As of Sunday evening he was no longer listed in the jail.

In October 2018, Conway was shot three times in Lewisville when another vehicle pulled up next to him and opened fire.
