Storms will weaken as they approach overnight

Saturday was cloudy, breezy, warm and humid once again, with a high of 79 at DFW Airport. But changes are coming.

Widespread severe thunderstorms, with numerous Tornado Warnings have occurred across much of west Texas on Saturday. But those storms will weaken significantly as they approach DFW overnight. Here we expect nothing more than light rain showers, mainly between midnight and 7 am. The remaining showers will move into east Texas by mid morning.

The skies will clear out Sunday afternoon with a drop in humidity and a gusty west wind. This will increase fire conditions.

Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday. Don’t forget to move your clocks forward and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
