Keller speller is headed to Scripps National Spelling Bee

Fifth-grader Vivinsha Veduru, from Keller’s Bear Creek Intermediate School, is headed to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

On March 9, Veduru won the virtual 2021 TCU Regional Spelling Bee, competing with other area bee champions, according to a Keller ISD news release. Veduru spelled 39 out of 50 words correct within a 30-minute time limit.

Veduru’s next stop will be the preliminary round of the national bee, which will take place virtually. The quarterfinals and semifinals, which are on June 27, are also scheduled to be virtual.

The final round, featuring 10 to 12 of the top spellers, will be televised and take place July 8 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
