Ellis County Sheriff’s Office looking for 28-year-old in connection with death of Waxahachie man

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man in connection with a body that was found in Ennis Wednesday.

Officials are looking for Trenton James Adams, 28, who is suspected in the death of 29-year-old Jordan Von Hoffman, the sheriff’s office said.

At about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a suspicious activity call in the 6900 block of Ensign Road in Ennis. The person who called said they believed a body was on the property.

Ellis County sheriff’s deputies responded with assistance from the Texas Rangers, officials said.

The victim was identified as Von Hoffman, and the cause of death was ruled a homicide, according to the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office investigated and found evidence linking Adams to Von Hoffman’s death. Officials did not release details of the investigation.

Adams’ recommended bond is $1 million, officials said. He is also wanted on a parole violation, in which there is no bond.

Officials said Adams is driving a black 2011 Jeep Compass with Texas license plate NCG-9476.
