Scattered showers today, here’s when we dry out

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The front that moved through last night has cleared all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, leaving us with a cooler start this morning with lows mostly in the 50s. A jet stream disturbance moving in will keep rain in the forecast, some sprinkles this morning, the bulk of the rain this afternoon, then some lingering showers this evening. A wind advisory has been issued for our barrier island communities.
What can we expect this weekend?
Scattered showers today, especially through the afternoon. The highest rainfall chances will be along the coast, though the entire area has the potential to see more rain. Temperatures will start in the 50s and climb into the mid 60s, though gusty winds will make it feel a bit cooler than that. Sunday should bring more sunshine breaking through the clouds and drier air. Temperatures will start in the low 50s and warm into the low 70s.

When will we have another opportunity for rain?
Most of next week will be dry, but a small rain chance will return Thursday as Gulf moisture rushes in ahead of our next cool front. That front will arrive either Friday or Saturday, and that’s when we’ll have our next opportunity for showers and thunderstorms.
