Arlington shootout leaves one dead, one wounded at apartments

A shootout Saturday night between at least two men left one of them dead and another wounded in Arlington, police say.

Police were called shortly after 8 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 4900 block of Long Beach Drive, near U.S. Highway 287 and Sublett Road, where they found an 18-year-old who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A few minutes later, police in nearby Kennedale received a call about a man who had suffered a gunshot wound and driven to the city. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Police, who did not release the men’s names, said they’d met at the complex for an unknown reason before they shot at each other.

Investigators said others may have been involved in the shootout.

Anyone with information about the case may call police at 817-459-5312 or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
