One person was fatally shot Monday in Duncanville, police said.
Police said they were called shortly after 1 p.m. about “a potential disturbance” in the 1100 block of Explorer Street, near South Santa Fe Trail and Cedar Hill Road, between two people who were no longer at the location.
The officers were rerouted to another call, and before they got to Explorer Street, multiple people called 911 to report gunshots in that area.
Officers found one person wounded when they arrived. That person, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Methodist Charlton Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said they believe another gunshot victim may have fled after the shooting.
Officers located several witnesses and police said they are investigating “a multitude” of leads in the case.
