3 juveniles face murder charges in slaying of 15-year-old girl in Mesquite

Three juveniles are in custody in connection with the weekend slaying of a 15-year-old girl in Mesquite.

Police said Wednesday that the trio had been apprehended and each faced a charge of murder in connection with the death of Arial Charles. Their names were not released because of their ages.

Officers were called to the scene of a shooting just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Driftwood Drive, near Towne Crossing Boulevard.

Arial had been shot, and police gave her first aid until paramedics arrived. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Police previously said that the teen appeared to know the other people involved in the shooting and that it was an isolated incident. They have not released any other details about the case.
