A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday at 7 a.m. because several more rounds of heavy thunderstorms could move over the same locations and cause flash flooding.
When could heavy rain return to the Houston area?
Heavy rain will continue through the morning, with rain later in the day still a bit of a question mark as it depends on how the morning batch plays out. We should see at least some drying through the afternoon, but we need to remain vigilant for the chance for rain to return this evening.
What are the rain chances for the weekend?
An upper level storm will slowly push through Texas Saturday and Sunday, and that means more opportunities for rain. Right now we have a 80% chance for thunderstorms on Saturday and a 40% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. Most of Sunday’s rain is likely to fall on Sunday morning with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s returning during the afternoon.
