Man fatally shot outside north Arlington bar, police say

A man was fatally shot early Wednesday in the parking lot of a bar in north Arlington, police say.

Dillon White, 26, is accused of shooting the 34-year-old man during a fight near Collins Street and Brown Boulevard, authorities said. Officers responded to the shooting about 2 a.m.

The wounded man died at a hospital Wednesday afternoon, according to police. He will be publicly identified after his relatives have been notified.

Police said White left the scene after the shooting and was arrested at his home about 4:10 a.m.

Records show that he was charged with aggravated assault, but police said that is likely to be upgraded now that the case is a homicide.

Investigators reported that White had a handgun when he was arrested. Police believe the gun was used in the shooting and are in the process of reviewing evidence.

Details about what led to the fight were not released.
