1 dead following early morning shooting at Greenway Plaza hotel, authorities say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a shooting left one person dead at a Greenway Plaza hotel Saturday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to police, the fatal shooting took place at 6 Greenway Plaza near the intersection of Edloe Street and Richmond Avenue just before 5 a.m. The business address matching that location was the DoubleTree Hotel, where a heavy police presence remained for several hours.

One person was reported dead at the scene, according to officials.

Police have not said what led up to the incident. However, authorities did say that they took at least three people in custody.
