Here’s when it’s most likely to rain over the next two days

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Showers and storms pushed through much of Southeast Texas this afternoon. Rain chances are expected to decrease after 8 pm but a few isolated showers especially near the coast will be possible overnight. We could also see patchy fog form overnight across parts of SE Texas.

Showers should again kick off near the coast Tuesday morning before moving inland by the mid to late morning. Heavy rain will be the main threat with showers and storms which could lead to isolated street flooding.

How long will this wet weather pattern stick around?
Rain chances are at 70% today, then 80% on Tuesday and Wednesday with deep tropical moisture overhead. After another very wet day on Thursday, rain chances will begin to fall late in the work week.

How much rain should I expect?
We expect 1-3″ of rain to be fairly common around Houston through Thursday. Southwest of Houston near Matagorda Bay those rainfall totals climb into the 3-5″ range.

Will it rain again this weekend?

There is still a chance for afternoon downpours Saturday and Sunday, but these will be more scattered in nature. At this time we are predicting a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms with high temperatures near 90.
