Hot weekend followed by a cold front Monday

This weekend will feature typical summer warmth and humidity across North Texas.

High temperatures will be in the mid 90s with afternoon heat index values close to 100.

A cold front will move into North Texas on Monday with more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Again, no severe weather is expected, but occasionally heavy rain is possible. Rain chances will continue for the first half of next week. One to two inches of rain is possible Monday through Wednesday.

In addition to the rain, temperatures next week will drop. Highs will only be in the upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal for the remainder of the week.
