The heat continues Monday, but cooling downpours return Tuesday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Our steamy stretch of weather continues today with mostly sunny skies, high temperatures in the upper 90s, and feels like temps above 105. A stray shower or storm is possible, especially areas east of Houston, but there’s less than a 20% chance for rain.

An Ozone Action Day has been issued for the area for Monday. Conditions are expected to be favorable for producing high levels of ozone pollution in the Houston, Galveston and surrounding areas.

What can we expect next week?
Hot and mostly dry conditions continue into Monday, but rain chances will be increasing Tuesday. An upper low moving west into South Texas will send moisture our way this week. Scattered showers and storms will be possible Tuesday through Friday but we should mostly dry out next weekend as high pressure builds back in. This week will not be a total washout so don’t cancel your plans, but make sure you stay weather aware especially in the afternoons.

What are we expecting next weekend?

Right now, it looks like we will be mostly dry next weekend with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. A couple of isolated showers will be possible each afternoon but most areas should stay dry. With it being 6-7 days out though, changes will be possible.
