HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A stalled front near Houston will slowly lift back north for the rest of the week, putting more moisture and higher rain chances back over Houston.
Isolated showers are possible Thursday morning, and extensive clouds should keep temperatures from dropping no more than a few degrees below 80 where it stays dry.
Thursday’s sky will again be filled with clouds and rain chances will climb to 40% for most Houstonians. Higher rain chances are expected southwest of Houston with lower rain chances northeast of Houston. Temperatures will briefly reach into the lower 90s before the clouds and rain drop the temperature back down into the 80s.
If you do get any rain, you’ll probably get less than half an inch, but some of the heavier downpours could drop a quick inch in some spots.
How long will this front impact us?
The front will remain stalled out near Houston through Friday, keeping at least some chance of rain in the forecast the rest of the work week. It will lift north of us this weekend.
What do we expect for the weekend?
The front will lift back north of us this weekend, bringing back mid-90-degree heat and heat index values over 100. There will still be enough moisture for a 30% chance of a cooling afternoon downpour Saturday, but the rain chance drops to just 20% Sunday.
Is there anything to be concerned about in the tropics?
