A hotter weekend ahead

Spotty thunderstorms will move across parts of North Texas this evening. This will be followed by dry and mild weather overnight. A warming trend will send afternoon temperatures into the mid-90s on Friday. There will be a bit of a south breeze that will help take the edge off of the heat.

Typical August heat and humidity return this weekend with afternoon highs well into the upper 90s. Humidity levels will be increasing meaning that heat index values will rise to 105 to 110. Parts of North Texas may be placed under a Heat Advisory at some point this weekend.

Much of next week looks hot and dry across North Texas with highs in the upper 90s and lows in the upper 70s.
