Woman killed in North Loop hit-and-run crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman died early Sunday and another was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Houston’s north side.

It happened along the 610 North Loop near Kirkpatrick around 2 a.m.

While it wasn’t clear what exactly led to the crash, the vehicle involved took off after it happened, according to Houston police.

The westbound lanes of the loop were closed for several hours as investigators worked to find out what happened and collect evidence.

There was no word on a description of the other vehicle involved.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.
