1 person reported dead after single-engine plane crash near Azle

At least one person died after a small plane crashed Saturday near Azle, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.

The single-engine plane crashed about 9 a.m. near Confederate Park Road and Flying Oaks Airport in Tarrant County, the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board confirmed.

Wreckage from the Aeronca 7AC airplane was recovered Sunday afternoon, an NTSB spokeswoman said.

The FAA and NTSB did not release further information Sunday, and Tarrant County officials could not be reached for comment.
