Man faces murder charge after fatal shooting at central Oak Cliff apartment

A 24-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with a fatal central Oak Cliff shooting earlier this month.

Danthony Ramon Edwards-Monton faces a murder charge in the death of Devon Raymo. He did not have an attorney listed in court records.

Dallas police were called about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18 to an apartment in the 4100 block of Druid Hills Drive, where they found Raymo, 31, wounded. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, witnesses said people had been arguing at that apartment and that a gunman wearing a black mask shot Raymo and then fled in a black Ford Mustang.

The following day, a witness who knows Edwards-Monton identified him as the shooter, saying that he was standing over Raymo’s body after the shooting, with no one else around.

Edwards-Monton was being held in the Dallas County jail, with bail set at $250,000.
