Fall front moves in this week bringing cooler temps

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Big changes are coming up for the weather here in Southeast Texas. A cool front is expected to move in Tuesday evening bringing scattered rain showers ahead of the front followed by cooler air.

It will be another hot day on Monday though with highs topping out in the low to mid 90s. A couple of showers and storms will be possible Monday afternoon but most of us will stay dry.

What can you tell us about next week’s front?

A cool front is expected to move into Southeast Texas Tuesday night-early Wednesday morning. Ahead of the front, we will be looking at a broken line of showerand storms moving in from the north. Behind the front, cooler and drier air is expected to move in making for a very pleasant second half of the work week.

How cool are we talking?
Low temperatures Thursday are expected to be in the upper 50s with afternoon high temperatures in the low 80s.

Is there anything of concern in the tropics?
At this time, no. Tropical Storms Peter and Rose are expected to stay out in the Atlantic far away from the Gulf. You can get a full overview of the tropics on our tropical update page.
