McKinney mother feared younger son before he brutally killed her, court testimony reveals

Craig and Stacy Barney worried that their younger son could kill them and his two siblings.

“There is nothing more hurtful than to hear one day he’d kill all of us,” Stacy Barney wrote in her journal when he was 7.

Her words were read in court Monday in a hearing before a judge who will decide whether the boy, who is now 16, will stand trial as an adult for beating his mother with a hammer and choking her to death Jan. 3 in the family’s McKinney home.
