Multiple juveniles detained after fight at The Parks Mall in Arlington; no shots fired

Multiple juveniles were detained Saturday after a fight at The Parks Mall at Arlington, police said.

Officers were called just before 6:30 p.m. to the mall in the 3800 block of South Cooper Street. Police said on Twitter that rumors that shots had been fired in the building were false.

It wasn’t immediately clear Saturday night how many people were involved in the fight or how many juveniles were in custody. No one was seriously injured, police said.

“APD has and will continue to work closely with Parks Mall staff to ensure the mall is a safe and fun place for everyone,” police said on Twitter.

Saturday’s incident is the second time this year that juveniles were detained after a large fight in the mall.

In January, five juveniles were taken into custody after a fight among 20 to 30 people. That incident also led to false claims on social media that shots had been fired at the mall.
