DeSoto police seek public’s help identifying bank robber

DeSoto police are asking for help identifying a man they believe robbed two banks this week.

Officers were called about 4 p.m. Friday after a man robbed the PNC Bank at 225 N. Hampton Road.

Witnesses said the man did not display a weapon, but he walked up to one of the teller windows and demanded money, police said.

The robber is described as a white man in his late 50s to early 60s who is 5-10 to 6 feet tall and weighs 275 to 300 pounds. Police said he has a salt-and-pepper beard and was wearing a navy-blue hoodie and glasses.

The same man is suspected of robbing a PNC Bank in Arlington on Wednesday, police said.

Police said they have notified the FBI and detectives are investigating.

Anyone who may recognize the man may call the Southwest Regional Communications Center at 972-223-6111 with information. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
