19-year-old man fatally shot near Martin Luther King Park in Fort Worth

A 19-year-old man was fatally shot in East Fort Worth on Friday night, police said.

Officers responded about 8:30 p.m. to the 2200 block of Carverly Drive, near Martin Luther King Park, and found a man with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died a short time later. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified him as Malik Sims.

No arrests have been announced, and police said they are still investigating the shooting.
