Man arrested after viral video showed attack on women along Dallas highway

A man was arrested Tuesday after a video went viral on Instagram showing a physical confrontation with a pair of women on the side of a highway.

Jaleel Sheehy, 25, faces two misdemeanor counts of assault. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

Police said two women flagged down officers about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and said they were driving north in the 2400 block of North Central Expressway when their car was sideswiped. Both cars turned on their hazard lights and pulled over.

When one of the women got out to exchange information with the other driver, he became “hostile” and punched her, police said. The second woman got out of the car to help the first woman, and the man punched her too.

The two women then drove off.

In an Instagram video that has been viewed more than 600,000 times, a woman says she and her friend were assaulted after a hit-and-run.

The video shows two cars parked on the shoulder of the highway. A man in a white tank top and red shorts is seen punching a woman several times.

A woman says “What? Are you hitting her?” as he walks away.

He then walks back toward the person filming, and the camera falls to the ground as people yell. Before the video ends, a woman in a blue shirt picks up the camera, and her nose appears to be bleeding.

The woman who posted the video, Shaudae McMillan, did not respond to a request for comment from but told KDFW-TV (Channel 4) that her friend’s nose was broken.

“I should not have to fight my way out of a routine accident,” she said. “But as soon as we stepped out of the car … he was very irate. I mean, he came out of the car calling us all types of names and saying that we damaged his car.”

Police said Sheehy was identified as the man in the video after they received an anonymous tip.

Sheehy is being held in the Dallas County jail. His bail had not been set Tuesday evening.
