Man, 18, killed in Arlington shooting, police say

An 18-year-old was shot and killed in an Arlington apartment Saturday night, police said.

Police responded to the 800 block of East Sanford Street about 11:43 p.m. where they found an 18-year-old lying in an apartment with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person who called 911 told officers that he and the man who was shot were hanging out in the apartment with four other people. One man brought out and began handling a shotgun, which discharged, police said.

Authorities said several people were being questioned by investigators. Charges have not been filed, and the person who died was not immediately identified.
