Rain chances return to North Texas by midweek

The ridge of high pressure that has brought the heat to North Texas this summer is weakening a bit this weekend into next week. This will allow daytime temperatures to be not quite as hot as in recent days. After a streak of 21 consecutive days of triple-digit heat, the high Saturday was “only” 99. And Sunday was about the same. Even better, highs by the middle of next week could be in the middle 90s for several days. The last time we had a high temperature below normal was almost six weeks ago, on June 28th!

Rain chances in North Texas will increase Tuesday and Wednesday, as the ridge weakens, but coverage will remain spotty. Wednesday looks to be the best chance for rain in DFW, though not everyone will see rainfall. A few showers may linger into Thursday, before it dries out and heats up again by next weekend.
