Man carjacked pickup driver, assaulted trucker after slaying, Dallas police say

A man accused of fatally shooting someone at his north Oak Cliff apartment was arrested after Dallas police say he crashed his Tesla, carjacked someone at gunpoint, assaulted a trucker and tried to take a security officer’s gun, according to court records.

Ryan Glover, 27, was booked into the Dallas County jail Sunday morning on charges of murder, aggravated robbery, assault and trying to take a weapon from an officer. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.

Glover is accused of shooting 26-year-old Jacquan Hudson, who was found at Glover’s apartment about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Winding Brook Circle, near Fort Worth Avenue and North Plymouth Road. Hudson, who had been staying there for several days, was pronounced dead at the apartment.

Police wrote in an arrest-warrant affidavit that a neighbor heard three gunshots around 1:15 a.m. About 10 minutes later, authorities say, Glover crashed his Tesla into the back of a Toyota sedan in the 11300 block of North Stemmons Freeway, near Royal Lane.

After the crash he staggered across the traffic lanes, pointed a gun at a motorist in a pickup and stole the vehicle before crashing it into the median, police allege in the affidavit. Then, authorities say, Glover walked in front of a semi truck in the northbound lanes of the highway, got into the cab and assaulted the driver.

The truck driver flagged down a security officer who helped detain Glover, according to an affidavit. The officer told police Glover lunged for his gun during the incident.

Glover was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for evaluation before being booked into jail, police said.

Two guns and several fired casings were found at Glover’s apartment, along with a gallon zip-top bag containing what police believed was marijuana, an affidavit says.

During an interview with police, Glover said he got home from work between 1 and 2 a.m. Sunday, then left to go to his girlfriend’s, an affidavit says.

He told police that as he was getting on the freeway “his head began to spin and he does not remember what happened,” according to an affidavit. Glover told police he didn’t use illegal or prescription drugs and that he noticed a brown substance had been smeared on his car’s door handle.

Glover remained in custody Tuesday, with bail set at more than $1.3 million.
