A cool front pushing into Texas Sunday brings humidity relief next week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — There’s a front moving through Texas today and it will move into southeast Texas Sunday. While it will drop humidity for next week, high temperatures will still be in the low 90s through the forecast period.

A relatively dry flow will persist over Houston through Sunday as an upper level low spins to our east. Ahead of the weak front, we could see a few showers or storms pop up but chances are overall slim. Temperatures will stay hot Sunday with highs climbing into the low to mid 90s.

So how cool will we get behind this front?

This front should move through during the day/evening Sunday which would deliver a dose of lower humidity more than anything else for a day or two. You’ll feel the biggest change in the mornings Tuesday through Thursday when temperatures dip into the upper 60s. Front or no front, high temperatures will still climb into the low 90s, so it’s not yet time to pull out the fall wardrobe.

What’s happening in the tropics?

Post Tropical Cyclone Earl continues to stay well out at sea. We also have a tropical wave just off the coast of Africa that has a low chance of development over the next 5 days. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
