Hit and run that killed cyclist in Dallas caught on video. Suspect remains at large

Dallas police are searching for a suspect in a Sunday morning hit and run that left a cyclist dead.

A man riding his bicycle in the 12900 block of Kleberg Road at Handlin Street in the Rylie neighborhood was struck by a white SUV at 7:01 a.m., according to a police news release.

He was thrown off the bike “a significant distance” into a grassy area next to the road, officials said.

A camera at a home near the scene captured the incident on video, which shows the SUV stop after it struck the man.

The video shows a person get out of the vehicle and then return to drive away “without helping the bicyclist,” the release said.

The investigation is ongoing.

If anyone knows the identity of the suspect or has any information about this crash, they can contact Detective Kenneth Watson at 214-671-0015 or kenneth.watson@dallaspolice.gov referencing case No. 165437-2022.
