Man dies after being shot in the chest overnight in South Dallas, police say

A man was fatally shot early Sunday in South Dallas, police officials said.

Shortly before 1 a.m., officers were dispatched the 2400 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street.

Officers who responded found a man who had been shot in the chest. He died at the scene, authorities said.

Police did not provide further details on the victim’s identity.
