Pride Frisco to hold first-ever block party celebration

A family-friendly Pride Frisco block party featuring live music, food trucks, more than 50 vendors, games, door prizes and local sports teams will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 at 3521 Main Street in Frisco.

Parking, door prize eligibility and event entry are all free for the city’s first-ever pride celebration, which will also offer LGBTQIA+ resources, according to a news release.

Musical guests include the Emerson Band and DJ JJ Rangel-Adams. Other guests include PFLAG Dallas, Dallas Resource Center, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, Microsoft and The University of Texas at Dallas Gender Center.

Food trucks onsite will include Earnest B’s BBQ, Cactus Café and 88 Bites Gourmet.

“It is imperative that all members of our community have essential resources, information, support and love, regardless of where they live,” Jon Culpepper, Pride Frisco board member, said in the news release. “Pride celebrations have been held in Dallas since 1972 but never in Frisco. This year, we’re changing that.”

Pride Frisco is a nonprofit charity that supports and empowers LGBTQIA+ communities and allies of Frisco. The group holds social and educational events regularly so that LGBTQIA+ youth and others have a safe place to make friends, feel a sense of belonging and be themselves, according to the news release.
