Experienced teachers in Frisco among top earners in North Texas, study finds

Teachers in Frisco with at least 10 years of experience are top earners, with their district ranking in the top 10 out of 48 others in North Texas, according to a 2022-23 teacher salary comparison released by the United Educators Association.

Frisco ISD pays teachers who hold a bachelor’s degree and have 10 years of experience a base salary of $63,750 per year, ranking No. 10 in the list

At 15 years’ experience, the district climbs to No. 7, paying teachers $66,400; at 20 years the district climbs to No. 6, paying teachers $68,600; and for those with 25 years of experience the district ranks No. 9, paying teachers $70,600, not counting stipends.

The United Educators Association is an independent association representing more than 26,000 North Texas public school employees. It works to improve salaries, benefits and working conditions for all public school employees.

Education issues including employee salaries, mounting stress and burgeoning workloads will probably be addressed during the next legislative session.

The association’s teacher salary comparison helps educators, including those entering the profession, find information about potential employers.

Teachers with a bachelor’s degree entering the profession in Frisco ISD will earn $58,250; those with a master’s degree will earn an extra $1,000 a year.

The top five highest-paying districts for new teachers with a bachelor’s degree in North Texas are Grand Prairie at $61,000; Castleberry at $60,892; Everman at $60,608; Mansfield at $60,500 and Arlington at $60,400. The lowest-paying district on the list for new teachers is Tolar, paying $38,000.
