Fort Worth extends neighborhood award nominations deadline

Fort Worth officials have extended the nominations period for Fort Worth Neighborhood Awards to 5 p.m., Dec. 8.

The city seeks to recognize registered neighborhood associations for their 2022 beautification projects, crime prevention programs, wellness initiatives, social events and more.

Residents are also encouraged to nominate outstanding officers for Code Compliance Officer of the Year, Neighborhood Patrol Officer of the Year and the Danny Scarth Trailblazer Award.

Winners will be announced at the Mayor’s Neighborhood Awards Luncheon on Feb. 18.

Some of the 2021 winners were:

Fort Worth Pride Award: HOA category winner was Heritage Homeowners Association and the Voluntary Association winner was Lake Como Neighborhood Advisory Council.
Spirit of Fort Worth Award: HOA winner is Hulen Heights and the Voluntary Association winner was West Meadowbrook
The Neighbor of the Year: Brenda Sanders, Wise of Garden of Eden
Neighborhood of the Year: Heritage Homeowners
