Players, rival team, show support for Plano coach diagnosed with cancer

Robinson Middle School head coach Victor Bradford, who is fighting Stage 3 colon cancer, received a show of support from his team and a rival team in the district.

Relatives and friends of both teams wore T-shirts and blue ribbons in support of Bradford, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, FOX4 News (KDFW-TV) reported.

Bradford was recognized before a seventh-grade basketball game on Thursday at Schimelpfenig Middle School, Fox News reported.

Bradford told the station that the diagnosis was unexpected because he had no severe symptoms until he went to an emergency room for painful stomach aches.

Bradford had surgery immediately after the diagnosis and is focusing on his recovery so “he can get back to doing what he loves,” Bradford said.
