Authorities investigating body found on highway median in southeast Dallas County

A body was found along a highway in southeastern Dallas County a day after someone reported that a man was trying to cross the road in the rain, authorities said Tuesday.

Shortly before midnight Saturday, Dallas County sheriff’s deputies were called about a man trying to cross U.S. Highway 175 near Edd Road, the department said, but did not find anyone.

About 2:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were flagged down near the same area and notified of a body in the median, the department said. Authorities said the man appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The man’s identity was not released, and no additional details were available. The Sheriff’s Department said it was unclear whether the two calls were related.
