Severe Weather Potential for Monday

A storm system will sweep through North Texas Monday, bringing a chance of rain, along with some potential for severe weather.

The primary threat zone will be for areas along and east of I-35. The severe weather threat will generally increase the farther east you go. Storms will begin to fire up by midday and continue through the afternoon and early evening. North Texas has a marginal to slight risk for severe storms with the primary threats of heavy rainfall, damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes. Please stay weather aware on Monday as this storm system moves through.

A trailing cold front will bring drier conditions by Tuesday into Friday. Temperatures to drop back to seasonal levels with highs into the 50s and lows into the 30s and 40s.

A weak cold front will move across the area by Saturday. This frontal boundary will retreat to the north on Sunday evening as a warm front. This will setup rain chances across the area.
