Drive-by shooting leaves 2 dead, 1 injured in separate areas in SW Houston, Houston police says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people dead in two separate areas, police said.

Houston police officers were called in the 14100 block of Buffalo Speedway about a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found one person who had succumbed to their injuries.

While securing the scene, officers became aware of another incident that occurred close by in the 14100 block of Fleetwell Drive. Officers made their way to that area and learned that another victim had died.

An investigation determined that two victims and another person were originally on Fleetwell when a suspect opened fire. One of the victims died there, and the second victim ran toward Buffalo Speedway, where they died from injuries they sustained, police said.

The third victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said it was unclear how many suspects were involved and said they did not believe this was a random act.

The two victims were said to be Black males between the ages of 20- 60 years old, police said.

HPD urges that if anyone has any information regarding this case, to call homicide or Crime Stoppers Houston at 713-222-8477 (TIPS).
