Royse City ISD placed on ‘soft lockdown’ after slaying of students’ mother

Police requested the district restrict access to campuses until officers had more information, and the district did not allow visitors on campus until the children were secure.

The social media post was made to “explain the reason for the soft lockdown and to ensure everyone that there is no threat to any school campus,” police said.

Police did not release any additional information about the slaying.
