Mom, husband wanted after Everman authorities dig up porch, continue search for 6-year-old

After digging up a concrete patio this week, Everman authorities found no evidence about the whereabouts of a missing 6-year-old boy, police said Friday.

The patio had been recently poured and paid for by Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, the mother of Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, police said. Authorities, who also searched the home where the family had been staying, said Friday they had obtained arrest warrants for Rodriguez-Singh and her husband, Arshdeep Singh, on charges of abandoning or endangering a child.

Everman police Chief Craig Spencer said at a news conference Friday that the search made use of specialized resources, such as dogs trained to find human remains, which did not find anything. Ground-penetrating radar detected an anomaly under the patio that indicated the possible presence of unknown objects and prompted the dig, Spencer said.

The patio became a focal point after investigators received additional tips and learned it was constructed on property the family did not own, Spencer said.

The search of the property revealed several items that support the investigation, the chief said, but he did not elaborate.

Several federal agencies, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, have joined the case as investigators review documents and other evidence collected from the home where Noel — who has a chronic lung condition that requires regular treatment — lived with his mother, stepfather, four biological siblings and twin half-siblings.

Noel’s family — which included six other children — flew to Turkey days after authorities conducted the welfare check, police said; the boy was not listed as a passenger on the flight.

“We’ve got no leads as to where he could be,” Spencer said Wednesday, adding that authorities aren’t ruling out any possibilities, including human trafficking or Noel staying with another family member.

Some relatives told police they’d seen the 6-year-old recently, but Spencer has said investigators think those statements weren’t true and that Rodriguez-Singh may have coached them on what to say.

Everman police are asking anyone who has had a personal interaction with Noel in the last year to call them at 817-293-2923 or email tips@evermantx.net. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477.
