Man arrested in connection with shooting that killed 1, wounded 1 in Garland, police say

Garland police arrested a 38-year-old man Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting last week that killed a 33-year-old Dallas man and wounded another.

Police arrested Jesus Trevino, who was booked into the Dallas County jail’s Lew Sterrett Justice Center. He faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with his bail set at $1.75 million, according to jail records. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

A second unidentified person of interest is still at large in the shooting.

In the July 18 shooting, officers responded to the 3300 block of South Shiloh Road about 7 p.m. and found two men had been shot while riding a gas-powered scooter. Both of the victims were taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds.

Crime in The NewsBrisen Dunn died at a hospital, according to police. The second victim, who has not been identified, was hospitalized, police said.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
