1 dead, 1 critical after shooting in northwest Harris County neighborhood, sheriff’s office says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation got underway on Friday evening after two people were reportedly found shot in northwest Harris County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of Trail Valley Way, which is down the way from Ray L. Shotwell Middle School.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said one of the victims, a man, was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a parked car.

The second victim was found in area close by and he was transported to the hospital in critical condition, Gonzalez said.

No further details were provided, but officials said the suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived.

Investigators are en route to the scene.
