Dallas-Fort Worth residents can expect mild conditions this week, but rain chances could return next weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Conditions in the region Sunday afternoon were sunny with temperatures in the mid-to-low 70s. A cold front will push temperatures to the low 40s in the D-FW area Sunday evening, said Allison Prater, a meteorologist for NWS Fort Worth. A weaker cold front is also possible Tuesday, Prater said.

“Some of the more rural parts of the metroplex might get to the upper-to-mid 30s,” she said Sunday afternoon.

The front is expected to start affecting temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth after 10 p.m., Prater said. No significant wind activity is expected with the front, she said.

Highs are expected to be in the 60s Monday through Wednesday, and should to the 70s starting Thursday, the KXAS-TV (NBC 5) forecast showed.

“Pretty pleasant — it looks like we’ll have kind of a warming trend late into the week,” Prater said, adding that rain chances could return to the Dallas-Fort Worth area Saturday.
