Holiday weekend in North Texas opens with another round of rain days before Christmas

Clouds are set to return into Saturday morning. More substantial showers (and a few thunderstorms) are likely by Saturday evening and overnight. Some heavy rain is likely as we head into early Sunday morning. An additional 1-2″ of rain is possible.

The rain will move out of North Texas by midday Sunday (Christmas Eve). A cold front will move through Sunday night and push chillier air into the region. This means Monday (Christmas Day) will be much cooler with a high in the lower to mid-50s.
