Rain moving out of North Texas before another round this weekend

The rain is gradually moving out this Friday morning. Clouds will hang around for much of the day, but some afternoon sunshine is expected. Temperatures will warm into the upper 60s.

The clearing skies later today will be short-lived, as clouds are set to return tonight with a chance of drizzle. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of drizzle in the morning. More substantial showers (and a few thunderstorms) are likely by Saturday evening and overnight. Some heavy rain is likely as we head into early Sunday morning. An additional 1-2″ of rain is possible.

The rain will move out of North Texas by midday Sunday (Christmas Eve). A cold front will move through Sunday night and push chillier air into the region. This means Monday (Christmas Day) will be much cooler with a high in the middle 50s.
