At least 6 dead, 3 hospitalized following crash in Johnson County, authorities say

Additionally, three people who were injured in the crash were taken via helicopter to a Fort Worth-area hospital, said Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman William Lockridge.

Children are believed to have been involved in the crash, Lockridge said, but it’s unclear if any were among the fatalities. No information was available related to the identities of the six people who died.

The crash, reported to authorities shortly after 4 p.m., occurred on U.S. Highway 67, between County Road 1234 and County Road 1120, Lockridge said. The crash has caused closures on the highway, he added.

“All six deceased were in one vehicle,” Lockridge said, adding that the vehicle is believed to have been a Honda Odyssey.

The second vehicle involved in the crash was a Chevrolet pickup, Lockridge said.

It’s unclear what criminal charges, if any, could stem from the incident.

“It’s too early to say,” Lockridge said.
