New Year’s Eve shooting in Fort Worth leaves 1 dead; suspect remains at large

A man died on New Year’s Eve in Fort Worth after being found shot inside his car. No arrest has been announced.

Officers responded Sunday morning to the 5700 block of Eastland Street, near Interstate 820, and found a gunshot victim inside a vehicle, police said.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

He was identified as 34-year-old Deandre Dotson, according to Tarrant County medical examiner records. His cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound of the head.

No additional information, including a motive in the shooting, was available as of Thursday.
