Patchy fog tonight, but mainly dry this weekend

This first weekend of 2024 is shaping up to be dry. However, it may start off with patchy fog across parts of North Texas Saturday morning. The clouds may break to allow some sunshine by afternoon, but Saturday will be cool with highs in the low 50s.

Sunday will start chilly, but an abundance of sunshine will boost temperatures into the upper 50s to low 60s. A southeast breeze will increase during the afternoon.

The next storm system will bring rain to all of North Texas on Monday, perhaps even a thunderstorm or two. No severe weather is expected close to home, but some severe storms are possible closer to the Gulf Coast. A cold front will sweep across the area Monday night, so Tuesday will be windy and much chillier.

Late next week and next weekend a strong cold front may be poised to bring some the coldest air so far this winter. Stay tuned.
