Weatherford crash led to fatal shooting of driver, police say

A driver was arrested in the fatal shooting of another motorist following a crash Friday in Weatherford, police say.

Nicholas Kent, 43, was arrested on a murder charge in connection with the shooting, police said. Kent was booked into the Parker County jail and his bail is set at $250,000, according to jail records. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

Weatherford police responded about 7:30 p.m. Friday to a crash on Interstate 20, near South Main Street.

Officers found Kent and a 44-year-old Parker County man who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They did not identify the man killed.

Investigators believe a collision between Kent and the other driver led to a fight which resulted in the shooting, police said.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and anyone with information or evidence in the shooting may contact Detective Jake Yarbrough at jyarbrough@weatherfordtx.gov
