17-year-old arrested in Mountain Creek fatal shooting of 2 teens, Dallas police say

A 17-year-old was arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal December shooting of two teenagers in Mountain Creek.

Officers arrested Obbie Perez on a charge of capital murder. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

About 5:20 p.m. Dec. 30, officers responded to the 6100 block of Mountain Creek Parkway, near Eagle Ford Drive, where they found two 15-year-olds with gunshot wounds inside a car, police said.

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified them as Elijah Martinez and Angel Solis. Martinez was taken to a hospital, where he died. Solis was pronounced dead at the scene.

County jail records show Perez was booked Thursday morning, and his bail is set at $2 million.

No additional information was immediately available on how police linked Perez to the shooting.
